Hawks Sports are Back! Important Information

Hawks Athletes and Families,

\r\n

I am excited to report that we are planning and working to reopen CPHS Sports seasons within our League, the South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC). These seasons are slightly different from the WIAA modified seasons as leagues and regions have been given the ability to set their own season dates and schedules.  There is still much work, planning, and decisions to be made, but I have some specific information below to share regarding the return of sports!  I would encourage our athletes to get involved in our current out of season sports workout offerings to prepare for seasons and work out with teammates and coaches; see those schedule details here.

Season Dates and Information:
As a league and school we will still work in accordance with the WIAA Healthy WA Sport and Activity Guidelines. Sports season start and end dates are set and will not change in the SCAC. If competitions are not allowed for a sport due to the Healthy Washington DOH Regional Phase status, then practices will continue in hopes of competitions in phase 2. A season could start and end without any competitions if phase 2 is not achieved. An exception is Cross Country, as they may compete in phase 1 as a low risk outdoor sport. Some sports, like wrestling and basketball, are indoors and high risk, so we are awaiting more guidance from the state regarding the parameters they have to meet in order to have competitions. See sports specific WIAA guidelines here.
