Each of the Hawks advanced to Day 2 of the tournament, coaches were impressed with first time State Participants Hanafin and Santana. With Santana being a senior and captain for this year’s team he wrestled well and represented the Hawks as he capped off his High School wrestling career.

First time wrestler and new to the sport Micah Hanafin was fun to watch as he participated in his first State Appearance, we seen a lot of great things from Micah this season and we were extremely excited to see him make it to State, Micah is going to be a fun wrestler to watch over the next two years.

As for the Lady Hawks this was their second State Appearance for each of them, Brooke Hodgen missed the Medal Rounds by one match its going to be exciting to see what she does come next season as a senior.

Sophomores Splattstoesser and Ibarra both got a little closer to the medal rounds this year compared to last year they both continue to improve every day. Both have 2 years left in the program and could become a State Champion.

This group of wrestlers represented themselves, CPHS, and the College Place Community to the best of their ability, coaches were extremely excited and happy as well as impressed by each of their performances this weekend and we are already looking at next season.
