JWilliams

During their Regular School Board Meeting on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, the College Place Public Schools Board of Directors interviewed Jamie (Sporleder) Williams as the sole applicant for the open Board Seat Position #1 vacated by Troy Fitzgerald. After a public interview of Williams, the Board adjourned to an Executive Session to consider the applicant before returning to appoint her to the open position.

In her application for the position, Ms. Williams, who is a Walla Walla native and a recent new
resident in College Place, spoke of her life and career as a Labor and Delivery Nurse and being
called to foster medically fragile infants. Jamie indicated that her passion for nursing, along with her experiences fostering seven children, developed her passion for advocating for the children in the community. Jamie and her husband Kyle are parents of three daughters, two of them are proud Davis Dragons.

During her board interview, Ms. Williams stated, “I am a strong advocate for kids and with a
family full of educators (Jamie’s sisters and father) I have a very special place in my heart for
teachers.” Superintendent Jim Fry echoed those strengths, “It is a blessing to find someone
with Jamie’s passion for our kids, our teachers, and what we do in our schools each day. I look
forward to the excellent lens she will bring to our board to support CPPS’ growth."

Ms. Williams will hold the open seat until the term expires December 31, 2023.
