COVID-19 Update

College Place Public Schools will be suspending all school-sponsored out-of-district student events effective immediately. This decision also suspends all student events hosted at College Place Public Schools where outside participants would be traveling into the community. This includes activities such as home and away athletic events, student field trips outside of our community, music concerts and contests, and other program-related competitions or events. Athletic practices will continue as scheduled.  

“This decision came after local health officials issued a statement today recommending this action,” said Superintendent Jim Fry. “While this decision impacts our students and their ability to participate in important extracurricular activities, it is necessary to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and community.”

Information regarding rescheduling of activities and events will be made available when it is recommended by our local health experts that it is safe to do so. 

“This is a very quickly changing situation that we are continuing to monitor it very closely.  We will continue to follow the recommendations of our State and local health organizations.” Stated Fry. 

College Place Public Schools will continue to follow its epidemic/pandemic response plan.

The district is preparing to implement additional measures if the crisis requires further action. While we are not at this point yet, schools across the state continue to close their doors and we recommend that parents begin to plan for the potential of a school closure. 

“We want to remind everyone to stay calm and to stay safe during this time as we work to best respond to keep our community safe,” said Fry.
