CPPS Launches Adopt-a-Student Program today following the completion of their corporate United Way Campaign.

District employees raised a total of $1,762.00 during the month of November for the United Way. For the first time this year, employees had the option to choose the Adopt-a-Student program. This program allows the funds to directly impact students in our District. The funds allocated for this program total $1,502.00.

United Way of Walla Walla and College Place Public Schools partnered earlier this year to develop the Adopt-a-Hawk and Adopt-a-Raider Program, this is a scholarship fund to help eliminate financial barriers for eligible students.

How it Works

\r\n

Eligibility Requirements: Current 6th –12th grade College Place Public Schools Student who lacks financial means to participate in a school-sponsored program, activity, or academic experience. This scholarship is not intended to support non-school related athletic or activity events (e.g. third-party athletic clubs, private lessons, summer sports camps, non-school related costs).

College Place School District faculty, coaches, counselors, and students may submit a request for consideration for any eligible student. The process is easy and confidential.

Requests are reviewed and considered by the committee of CPPS staff. Approved scholarships will be funded through the United Way of Walla Walla in coordination with the Community Relations & Communications Director. It is our goal to make funding quick and easy to meet the needs of our students.
