Over the past few weeks, the CPHS FFA has been competing in a variety of Career Development Events.  Here are the results.

Floriculture, both online and at East Valley High School in Yakima.  Curtis Reeves and Rachel Mettler made up the team for both competitions.  In the online competition, they were tested on their knowledge and problem solving skills.  Both placed in the top 100 of 252 individuals.  At East Valley, Curtis won 7th Individual and Rachel achieved 11th Individual.  As a team, the top 4 scores out of a team of 5 are counted.  Even with this handicap, they were able to place 12th out of 15 online teams and 8th out of 10 teams at East Valley. Way to go Curtis and Rachel!

Veterinary Science had an online competition, where the members had to show their knowledge of various animals and parasites, solve math problems and complete various problems based on Veterinary knowledge.  Audrey Reeves place 29th out of 195 individuals!

Creed Speaking Leadership Development Event at District 6 South Sub-Districts in Pomeroy High School. Members Curtis Reeves and Trace Floch memorized the FFA Creed and recited it in front of judges.  They were then asked questions that required them to show their knowledge of agriculture.  Curtis placed 5th and Trace 8th overall.

Way to go Curtis, Rachel, Audrey, and Trace! We are so very proud of you! Go Hawks!

Upcoming in April: State Trap Shooting, District Vet Science, District Livestock Evaluation, State Horse Evaluation, and registration for State Convention, which is an overnight event in May.
