About Cross Country:

Cross Country is a competitive sport of running long distances of generally 3.1 miles. All runners start running at the same time, at a starting line, after an official fires a pistol. The course ends at a finish line as well, which is located at the beginning of a funnel or a chute. The lower the number (e.g. 1 being the lowest), the more points for the team that player is represents. The team with the most points, wins.
