College Place School Board Changes

College Place Public Schools announced today that School Board Chair Brian Maiden has resigned from his position on the School Board effective January 28, 2020 at the regular scheduled School Board Meeting. Additional changes at the meeting reorganized the School Board with the election of Mandy Thompson as Chair and Todd Stubblefield as Vice Chair.

Mr. Maiden has served on the College Place School Board since 2010. During his tenure, College Place Public Schools has undergone tremendous growth with the passing of the bond to build a new high school, rebuild Davis Elementary and remodel Sager Middle School. With this growth also comes student enrollment growth, which has more than doubled during his leadership on the board.

Mr. Maiden stated that he felt it was time to step down and he wanted to ensure a smooth transition of Jim Fry into the role of Superintendent.

“In the short time that I have worked with Mr. Maiden, it is clear that his long term dedication to College Place Public Schools has been a tremendous asset to the success in creating a topnotch school district and ensuring that kids are at the center of every decision we make.” Stated Superintendent Jim Fry.
