What is School Counseling?
School Counselors serve the academic, personal, and career needs of all students.
Counselors help students:
  • do better in school
  • build positive self-images
  • enjoy good relationships with others
  • develop good feelings about work, family, and society
Counselors work with:
  • students, individually and in small groups
  • teachers, administrators, and other specialists
  • parents and other family members
Goals of the School Counselor:
  • to identify children with special needs
  • to prevent problems from developing
  • to develop personalized programs
  • to provide crisis intervention
  • to provide career education activities
  • to help children understand themselves and others
  • to coordinate or facilitate services with other agencies

Joshua Deiss

Joshua Deiss joins us this year as a school counselor at Meadow Brook and Sager. He did his internship in College Place Public Schools just two years ago. He earned his BA in English Literature from Eastern Oregon University and will be completing his M.A. in School Counseling through Walla Walla College in the near future.

Blake Limburg

Blake Limburg has been in the district since 2001. He is serving grades K-3 students at Davis Elementary School. He earned a BA in Education from Washington State University and a M Ed, with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology, from WSU in July of 1998. Mr. Limburg was elementary school counselor in Pahrump Nevada from 1998-2001.
