What is School Counseling?
School Counselors serve the academic, personal, and career needs of all students.
Counselors help students:
  • do better in school
  • build positive self-images
  • enjoy good relationships with others
  • develop good feelings about work, family, and society
Counselors work with:
  • students, individually and in small groups
  • teachers, administrators, and other specialists
  • parents and other family members
Goals of the School Counselor:
  • to identify children with special needs
  • to prevent problems from developing
  • to develop personalized programs
  • to provide crisis intervention
  • to provide career education activities
  • to help children understand themselves and others
  • to coordinate or facilitate services with other agencies
Who is the School Counselor?

Marissa Neff

Marissa brings to College Place Public Schools a wealth of knowledge and educational experiences. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Washington, a Masters in Applied Psychology and School Counseling from Eastern Washington University, and is ESA Residency endorsed. Ms. Neff currently serves students in grades 4 - 8 at Meadowbrook Intermediate and Sager Middle School.

Blake Limburg

Blake Limburg has been in the district since 2001. He is serving grades K-3 students at Davis Elementary School. He earned a BA in Education from Washington State University and a M Ed, with an emphasis in Counseling Psychology, from WSU in July of 1998. Mr. Limburg was elementary school counselor in Pahrump Nevada from 1998-2001.
