Working Together

College Place Public Schools recognizes and supports the importance of individualizing learning to ensure that students with disabilities achieve success in the least restrictive environment.  The Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team, of which the parents are important members, collaborate to develop educational opportunities geared to individual needs of students, which maximize the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical potential of the learner.  We seek to foster respect and appreciation for cultural diversity through collaboration of staff, students, families and the community.

Special services are available to eligible infants, children and young adults identified with a disability who may be experiencing difficulties in one or more of the following areas:

-Mental Retardation                     -Speech & Language                          -Health Impairment

    -Emotional Disturbance              -Learning Disability                              -Autism

Discipline Concerns:
Students may exhibit behavior contributing to difficulty in classroom or school.  To assist in identifying the most appropriate intervention a Functional Behavior Assessment  may be used.  This is the process of determining the cause of behavior before developing and implementing an intervention based on the hypothesized cause (function) of behavior.
