| College Place Schools enjoy strong support from the community and its Parent-Teacher Association. PTA members work for improvements throughout the school system and for adequate public financing for education. Involvement in the PTA is encouraged by the board of directors and administration as a way in which parents, staff and administration can work together to provide the best possible educational programs for our students. Dues are $10.00 per person or $15.00 per couple of which $1.75 goes to the national PTA, $4.50 goes to the Washington State PTA and $.50 goes to the Walla Walla PTA Council. These dues go primarily to support kid-friendly legislation. Part of the Washington State PTA Mission Statement says, "To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children ". "College Place Combined PTA serves all three schools in the district. We welcome members any time of the year. If you would like to become a member you can look for an announcement in one of the school newsletters, or e-mail us at College Place PTA/PTO. We support teachers and administrators in providing the best possible educational experience for our children. We put on several events throughout the year, which are summarized below. Regular PTA Board meetings are open to all PTA and community Members and are held on the second Wednesday of every month, unless there is a conflict. Meeting are held at Meadow Brook Library at 6:30 PM. Your partricipation is encouraged and welcomed." - Karen Miles, PTA President |
