Washington State Assessment

Washington Comprehensive Assessment Program
The state test, previously known as the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL), has been replaced with the Measurements of Student Progress (MSP). The name of the MSP, given to students in grades 3-8, conveys the goal of the test: to measure student progress. The dates for testing in spring 2011 are May 2-19 for paper-and-pencil and May 2-June 3 for online testing.

Since beginning of spring 2010, the Measurements of Student Progress (MSP) are available online in grades 6-8 in reading, math and science.

College Place Public Schools has been selected to participate in the online testing last spring for grades 6-8 in reading and math. This year we are including 4th and 5th grades in the testing. We are excited to be at the leading edge of online testing in Washington. If you would like more information about the online testing as well as the opportunity to do an online testing demo please visit
http://wa-online.caltesting.org/index.html. Students in 3rd grade will continue to complete the Math and Reading tests in the paper/pencil format.  Also, 4th and 7th graders taking the writing assessment  will do so in the paper/pencil format.
