Media Programs Awarded Grant
It is with great excitement that the Media Communications program would like to announce the receipt of a grant from the George T. Welch Community Foundation.  The grant was written by graduating Senior, Trinity Pierce last year.  A handful of Advanced Media students plan to attend the Student Television Network (STN) conference in Seattle in March to compete in various video production competitions at STN conference.  CPHS Media teacher, Cathy Mebes shared, "What an incredible selfless act Trinity did last year as she learned to write grants and submitted them knowing she would be graduating and would not get to benefit by going to the conference, if awarded.  Also worth mentioning that receipt of this grant can now be added to Trinity's resume' and portfolio."  Trinity served as a TA in Mebes' Media 1 class last year.  Trinity aided in many Media 1 projects from video editing tutorials, news gathering and writing techniques and grant writing.  Mebes says she was pleased to have Trinity as a TA as the experiences gained in Media 1, Media 2 and as a TA in the Media Program served her well as she embarks on her education in journalism in college.

Special thanks to the Welch Community Trust as the experience gained at the conference will also serve as an incredible resume' component.  The program is beyond grateful for the support and would welcome any additional support to ensure more Media 2 and 3 students get the chance to attend the conference.
